Katy Perry reigns supreme this week as two years on from scoring her first Irish number one with ‘I Kissed A Girl’ she takes ‘Teenage Dream’ straight to the top of the Singles Chart. This is her third visit to the top having also been on the number one spot seven weeks ago with ‘California Gurls’ (feat. Snoop Dogg).
Eminem and Rihanna hold on at No2 with ‘Love The Way You Lie’, ahead of Taio Cruz whose ‘Dynamite’ drops from last week’s No1 to No3 while Flo Rida & David Guetta drop from No3 to No4 with ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’. X-Factor runner-up Olly Murs is the next new entry, completing the Top 5 with his debut single ‘Please Don’t Let Me Go’. Sky TV’s ‘Must Be The Music’ show contributes two new entries in this week’s Top 30 as Pepper & Piano’s ‘You Took My Heart’ enters at No9 and Daithi enters at No24 with ‘Carraroe’.
Katy Perry also tops this week’s Album Chart with her second album release again called ‘Teenage Dream’ out-shining 2008’s ‘One Of The Boys’ which peaked at No10. Eminem drops to No2 from last week’s No1 with ‘Recovery’ while the third spot is claimed by Dublin’s Fight Like Apes with their second album release ‘The Body Of Christ & The Legs Of Tina Turner’ – again a better showing than their debut release ‘The Mystery Of The Golden Medallion’ which entered the chart at No9. Disturbed gain their best showing on the Album Chart to date as ‘Asylum’ enters at No16 – their previous best being 2002’s ‘Believer’ which reached No42 – while The Pretty Reckless also achieve a Top 20 new entry with their debut album ‘Light Me Up’ entering at No18.
