Snow Patrol hold at No1 on the Album Chart with ‘Eyes Open’ for a third consecutive week and a seventh week in total since release. Razorlight mount a serious challenge, but their self-titled second album falls short of the top spot by less than a hundred sales and they stick at No2 for a second week. more

Snow Patrol Freeze Out U2

Snow Patrol’s ‘Eyes Open’ returns for a fifth stint at the top of the Album Chart this week: in the nine months since release last April, the album has never dipped lower than No12 in the chart, with 20 weeks in the Top 3, and only narrowly missed out on topping the 2006 year-end chart to Westlife’s ‘The Love Album’. more


Leona Leads the New Year Pack

The first week of 2007 sees the introduction of new chart eligibility rules: all downloads are now eligible for the Singles Chart, regardless of whether a physical version is available. The new rules make no difference to Leona, who has a third week at No1 with ‘A Moment Like This’, ahead of non-movers Akon ‘Smack That’ at No2 and Take That ‘Patience’ at No3. more
