Now Basshunter’s Gone To No1

Swedish musician & DJ Basshunter climbs from No2 to take this week’s top spot on the Singles Chart with ‘Now You’re Gone’ (feat. DJ Mental Theo’s Bazzheadz) - the first dance record to make No1 since Cascada’s ‘Everytime We Touch’ in October 2006. more


Amy Takes The Slow Road To No1

It’s taken her 15 months, but Amy Winehouse finally claims the No1 spot on the Irish Album Chart this week with ‘Back To Black’, which was released back in November 2006. After a relatively slow start, the album entered the Top 20 in the first week of 2007 and remained in the Top 30 for the entire year – and was the second best selling album of 2007 in Ireland (behind Leona Lewis ‘Spirit’). more


Britney Hits Seven

Nine years after her debut single ‘Baby One More Time’ stormed to the top of the Irish Singles Chart, Britney Spears lands her seventh No1 this week with ‘Piece Of Me’. Britney now ties with Madonna as the solo female artist with the most No1 singles in Ireland, but her hit-rate is more impressive: every one of her twenty singles has made the Top 10 except for 2001’s ‘Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know’ which peaked at No12. more


Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow

Just over 10 years ago Radiohead debuted at No1 on the Irish Album Chart with ‘OK Computer’ and their next three studio albums ‘Kid A’, ‘Amnesiac’ and ‘Hail To The Thief’ all achieved the same feat. This week ‘In Rainbows’ matches the No1 chart debut of the previous four albums, despite the fact that it was available as a ‘pay as you please’ download ahead of this week’s physical release. more
