Up Where They Belong

This week’s Singles Chart sees Westlife back with a vengeance as their first single for nearly 18 months, ‘You Raise Me Up’, firmly fights off all competition to take the No1 spot. Accounting for nearly half of all singles sold this week, with the highest first week sales of any single since Band Aid 20, and with the highest ever first week sales for any of their 17 single releases (including 11 No1 singles) there can be no doubting their dominance on this week’s chart. more


Bell X1 Ring The Changes

Bell X1 debut at No1 on the Albums Chart this week with their third album ‘Flock’, well ahead of the No30 debut of their first album ‘Neither Am I’ in 2000 and the No15 debut of their second album ‘Music In Mouth’ in 2003. more


Katie Blunted

Following her appearance on the Late Late Show, Katie Melua led the pack on the Albums Chart throughout the week, only to be pipped at the post by James Blunt, whose ‘Back To Bedlam’ ended the week just 11 sales ahead of ‘Piece By Piece’. ‘Back To Bedlam’ has now spent 18 weeks in the Top 10, including an impressive 12 weeks at the top. more


Home Run For The Corrs

The Corrs climb one place from No2 to No1 with ‘Home’, to claim their 6th No1 on the Irish Album Chart: their first album ‘Forgiven, Not Forgotten’ peaked at No2, but the next 6 have all made it to the top. more
