Leona Leaps to the top

This week’s Singles Chart sees three big pop players vying for the No 1 spot with Leona Lewis taking the top prize. Ten months since the release of her debut single and her X-Factor victory she releases her second single ‘Bleeding Love’, which like ‘A Moment Like This’ heads straight to the top of the chart. Britney Spears ‘Gimme More’ climbs from No 9 to No 2 surpassing the success of her last hit single in 2005 – ‘Do Somethin’- which reached No 4. more


Shayne Beats Off The ‘Babes

After debuting at No1 on the Singles Chart four weeks ago, Shayne Ward continues his run at the top this week with ‘If That’s OK With You’, denying Sugababes a second Irish No1 single (after 2005’s ‘Push The Button’). ‘About You Now’ joins three other Sugababes singles which peaked at No2: ‘Freak Like Me’, ‘Round Round’ and ‘Hole In The Head’. more


More Chart Magic For Bruce

Bruce Springsteen has a second week at No1 on the Album Chart with ‘Magic’, but there’s a strong challenge from Michael Bublé who re-enters the chart at No2 with the new release of the ‘Tour Edition’ 2CD pack of ‘Call Me Irresponsible’. This is an Irish chart personal best for Bublé, ahead of the No4 peak for the original version of ‘Call Me Irresponsible’ (April 07) and the No5 peak for ‘It’s Time’ (March 05). more


Bruce Still Has The Magic Touch

Bruce Springsteen debuts at No1 on the Album Chart this week with ‘Magic’ – his third Irish chart-topper in 2 years, following in the steps of ‘Devils & Dust’ and ‘Live In Dublin’. ‘Magic’ is the second fastest-selling album of the year so far in Ireland, outpaced only by Arctic Monkeys ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’ back in April. more
