Taylor-Made for Swift Success

22-year-old American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift claims her first Irish No1 this week with her fourth studio album ‘Red’. Her self-titled 2006 debut has yet to chart in Ireland, but her second and third albums both made the Top 10 (‘Fearless’ No7 in 2008 and ‘Speak Now’ No6 in 2010). more


Calvin Goes With The Flo

Calvin Harris makes a not-so-unlucky 13th appearance in the Irish Singles Chart this week, debuting in pole position with ‘Sweet Nothing’, featuring Florence Welch. This is a second consecutive No1 in Ireland for both artists: Calvin’s ‘We’ll Be Coming Back’ took over at the top from Florence’s ‘Spectrum (Say My Name)’ eleven weeks ago. more


The Name’s Adkins…..Adele Adkins

Adele debuts at No1 on this week’s Singles Chart with her theme from the new Bond film ‘Skyfall’. It’s her second Irish No1 single, following ‘Someone Like You’ which spent six weeks on top last year. More significantly, this is only the second Bond theme to top the Irish charts – Carly Simon also achieved this feat with ‘Nobody Does It Better’ (from The Spy Who Loved Me) back in 1977. more


One Direction – Straight To The Top

One Direction land at No1 on this week’s Singles Chart with their fifth single ‘Live While We’re Young’ – their fourth appearance in the Irish Top 10 and their second No1 after their debut ‘What Makes You Beautiful’, which spent four weeks on top exactly a year ago. more
