Another Hit For The Killers

The Killers debut at No1 on this week’s Album Chart with their third album ‘Day & Age’, continuing an impressive hit-rate: their first album ‘Hot Fuss’ (2004) entered the chart at No52, rising seven months later to the top of the Chart, and the follow-up ‘Sam’s Town’ came straight in at No1 in October 2006 and went on to take five weeks at the top. more


Home Run For Leona

After performing her cover of ‘Run’ on Saturday’s ‘X Factor’, Leona Lewis takes Snow Patrol’s 2004 hit straight to the top of this week’s Singles Chart – her third Irish No1 single following ‘A Moment Like This’ and ‘Bleeding Love’. Her performance also generates sales for her previous hit ‘Forgive Me’, back up to No7 from No12, and also sales for Snow Patrol’s original version, back in the Top 40 at No34. more


Celine’s Collection Climbs To Summit

Celine Dion takes her hits package ‘My Love – The Essential Collection’ to the top of this week’s Album Chart from last week’s No 2, deposing Snow Patrol who drop down to No5. It’s her fifth album to make it to the top of the Album Chart and the first for six years when 2002’s ‘A New Day Has Come’ spent two weeks at No1. more


Divas Chase TV Hopefuls

The 2008 X-Factor Finalists take a second week at No1 with their charity single ‘Hero’, proceeds from which are supporting veterans’ charities Help The Heroes and The Poppy Appeal. There’s a major challenge, however, from Britney Spears ‘Womanizer’ new at No2 and Beyoncé ‘If I Were A Boy’, up from No12 to No3 – both download-only this week. more
