JCB In Reverse Gear – Back To Top

Nizlopi’s ‘JCB Song’ climbs back to the top of the Singles Chart this week, as last week’s No1 - Mario Rosenstock’s ‘Leave Right Now’ – dives to No19 due to lack of availability (a limited run of 18,000 copies were pressed and all were sold by Christmas Eve). Shayne Ward climbs one place to No2 with ‘That’s My Goal’, followed at No3 by ‘George Best – A Tribute’, up from No26 last week. The charity single features the original music performed at the funeral by Brian Kennedy (‘You Raise Me Up’) and Peter Corry (‘The Long and Winding Road’). more


And The Winner Is........

...Mario Rosenstock takes this year’s coveted prize of the Christmas No1 Single as his Roy Keane inspired take on Will Young’s ‘Leave Right Now’ storms straight to the top of the charts with the highest solo week’s sales of any single for nearly four years. Will Young also had the Christmas No1 with 'Leave Right Now' in 2003. Nizlopi’s ‘JCB Song’ has to settle for the No2 spot whilst holding off a brave challenge from this year’s X-Factor winner - Shayne Ward - whose ‘That’s My Goal’ debuts at No3 despite only being in the shops for two days. more


JCB Piles In

Warwickshire duo Nizlopi debut at No1 on the Singles Chart this week with their quirky ‘JCB Song’, setting up a formidable early challenge for next Friday’s coveted Christmas No1. Westlife and Diana Ross have to settle for a No2 debut with ‘When You Tell Me That You Love Me’, outsold by Nizlopi by a factor of nearly 3 to 1. more


Eminem Calls The Shots

Eminem crashes into the Album Chart at No1 this week with ‘Curtain Call – The Hits’ – his fourth Irish No1 album and the third to debut at the top. In the process he racks up the highest weekly sales for any album this year, and the highest since U2’s ‘Atomic Bomb’ in November last year. more


Westlife Lead The Pack

Westlife have a sixth week at No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘You Raise Me Up’, not only equalling their 6-week run at the top for ‘Uptown Girl’ 4 years ago, but also becoming the best-selling single of the year so far - leapfrogging Akon’s ‘Lonely’ late on Saturday afternoon (26th Nov.). more
