1D Red Nose No1

Twenty-seven years after the first Comic Relief charity single made No1 in Ireland, (Cliff Richard & The Young Ones with ‘Living Doll’), One Direction debut at the top with this year’s official release ‘One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)’. The Blondie/Undertones mash-up is the band’s third Irish No1, following ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ and ‘Live While We’re Young’. more


Top of the Shops

After a low-key debut at No70 five weeks ago, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis complete their steady ascent to the top of the Irish Singles Chart this week with ‘Thrift Shop’, up from No2 last week. Released on their own independent label, it’s a global success story, topping the charts in USA, UK, Australia, Canada and much of mainland Europe. more


Emeli’s Anniversary Crown

Exactly a year ago Emeli Sandé released her debut album ‘Our Version Of Events’ and arrived at No2 on the Irish Album Chart. In the intervening period she has spent a further seven weeks in the runner-up spot and taken up permanent residency in the Top 30, but this week she finally lands at No1. more


First Amongst Equals
