Number One – Enter The Fray

Eight weeks after debuting at No20 on the Singles Chart, The Fray finally climb to No1 with ‘How To Save A Life’, their first European single release. In contrast, after just one week at the top ‘You’re A Star’ finalists 21 Demands plummet to No19 for ‘Give Me A Minute’ as downloads dwindle after the end of the series.

All Fired Up

Exactly two years after their critically-acclaimed debut album ‘Funeral’ entered the Album Chart at No29, Arcade Fire’s follow-up ‘Neon Bible’ comes in at No1 this week. ‘Funeral’ has so far never made it higher than No16, despite spending 17 weeks in the Top 40, but the instant success of ‘Neon Bible’ means Arcade Fire are the first Canadians to top the chart since Avril Lavigne spent a week at No1 with ‘Under My Skin’ in June 2004.
