Listen Up

With his musical career now spanning 40 years, Christy Moore debuts at No1 on the Album Chart this week with ‘Listen’ - his first studio album since ‘Burning Times’ which made No3 in 2005. His previous live album ‘Live At The Point 2006’, however, did reach the top back in April 2006. more


Gaga Again!

While many albums leave the top spot on the Album Chart only to return again a few weeks later not many make the trip back up to the top as many times as Lady Gaga’s ‘The Fame’ which returns to No1 on the Chart for a fourth time this week – up a place from last week’s No2. Snow Patrol’s 2006 ‘Eyes Open’ did actually go one better returning to the top spot five times in its chart history. more


X-Factor Strikes Again

X-Factor 2008 finalist Eoghan Quigg sees his self titled debut album head straight to the top of this week’s Album Chart. After finishing third in the competition, Ireland’s Quigg is the first of the finalists to release an album. Lady Gaga drops off the top spot down to No2 with ‘The Fame’ while Leonard Cohen’s ‘Live In London’ moves up two places from No5 to No3. more


Fame & Fortune

Virtually unknown last year, Lady Gaga’s extraordinary run of success in 2009 continues this week as ‘The Fame’ reclaims the No1 spot on the Album Chart from Ronan Keating, whose ‘Songs For My Mother’drops back to No2. She now has the best-selling album (The Fame) and the best-selling single (Just Dance) of the year so far in Ireland. more
