The Boss Is Back In Town

In a week that sees no change at the top of either the Singles or Albums Chart the big news story is Bruce Springsteen’s re-entry into the Albums Chart. After playing three nights in Dublin he sees eleven of his albums from his 35 year recording career residing in the Top 75 with two titles in the Top 10: ‘Magic’ climbs from last week’s No10 to No6 while his ‘Greatest Hits’ climbs from No12 to No7. An achievement that equals that of U2 who after their 2005 Dublin show also saw eleven of their albums back in the Chart. more


Rihanna Takes A Bow at No1

Rihanna climbs from No5 to the top of the Singles Chart this week with ‘Take A Bow’ – her first No1 Single since her massive 2007 hit ‘Umbrella’. Her hit-rate is really impressive: six of her nine singles have made the Top 5 and eight have reached the Top 10. more


Madonna & Justin Clock Up A Smash

Eight weeks after debuting at No33, and after sitting for the past three weeks at No2, Madonna & Justin Timberlake finally climb to No1 with ‘4 Minutes’. more

Christie Hennessy climbs to the top of the Album Chart this week with ‘The Two Of Us’, his second Top 10 album in Ireland since his death in December 2007 (‘The Definitive Christie Hennessy’ reached No8 six weeks ago). more
