Eminem’s Slim Win

The heavyweight battle at the top of this week’s Album Chart ends with a win for
Eminem, who had a struggle on his hands to catch Green Day: his ‘Relapse’ was released on Monday, three days after ‘21st Century Breakdown’ and the final sales margin between the two albums was just 240 units. This is Eminem’s third consecutive Irish No1 debut, emulating the achievements of ‘The Eminem Show’ and ‘Encore’ in 2002 and 2004 respectively. more


Four For Moore

Christy Moore holds at No1 on the Album Chart for a fourth week with ‘Listen’ - his most successful chart run since ‘Live At The Point’ spent seven weeks at the top in 1994. more


Number 1 is….Number 1

After debuting at No8 last week, Tinchy Stryder and N-Dubz leap to No1 on the Singles Chart this week with the aptly-titled ‘Number 1’, deposing Lady Gaga who drops back to No2 with ‘Poker Face’. more


Knockin’ On Christy’s Door

Christy Moore wins the battle of the troubadours this week, holding on to the top spot on the Album Chart for a second week with ‘Listen’, ahead of label-mate Bob Dylan’s new entry ‘Together Through Life’ at No2. This is Dylan’s 33rd studio album and his first since ‘Modern Times’ which debuted at No1 in 2006. more
