Euro Duo Numero Uno

The churn at the top of the Singles Chart continues this week, with Romanian DJs Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina jumping five places from No6 to No1 with ‘Stereo Love’ – the fourth different No1 in as many weeks and the first dance track to hit the top since David Guetta & Kelly Rowland’s ‘When Love Takes Over’ back in July last year.

Day Of The Jackal

Conor O’Brien’s Villagers debut at No1 on this week’s Album Chart with their first full-length release ‘Becoming A Jackal’ – and for the first time in recent chart history it’s back-to-back debuts at the top for Irish artists on independent labels, following Cathy Davey’s No1 with ‘The Nameless’ last week.

Slow Train Pulls In At The Top

San Francisco rock band Train complete a 10-week journey to the top of the Singles Chart this week, up from No2 to No1 with ‘Hey, Soul Sister’ – nine years after their previous hit ‘Drops Of Jupiter’ peaked at No33.

AC/DC Rock On

AC/DC make it three weeks in a row at No1 on the Album Chart with the ‘Iron Man 2’ soundtrack – the first rock album to take three weeks at the top since Kings of Leon’s ‘Only By The Night’ back in October 2008 (which was deposed by AC/DC’s ‘Black Ice’ after four weeks at No1).
