With Adele’s ‘21’ taking a 17th week at No1 on the Album Chart, ahead of her own ‘19’, Take That mount a challenge this week with the release of ‘Progressed’ (their ‘Progress’ album plus eight new songs), sweeping them from No18 to No3. more


Girls Freeze Out Arctic Monkeys

Adele’s ‘21’ returns to the top of the Album Chart this week, swapping places with Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ which drops to No2 after two weeks on top - which means Arctic Monkeys are denied a fourth consecutive No1 as ‘Suck It And See’ lands at No3. Their first release ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ became the fastest selling debut album ever in Ireland in 2006 (although overtaken by Leona Lewis ‘Spirit’ the following year). The follow-up ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’ resided at No1 for three weeks in 2007 and their third album ‘Humbug’ spent a week on top in 2009. more


Pitbull Gets The Top Prize

After a steady seven week climb up the Singles Chart, Pitbull (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer) reaches the summit this week with ‘Give Me Everything’ – up a place from last week’s No2. Although he has appeared on two previous No1 hits – Jennifer Lopez’s ‘On The Floor’ and Alexandra Burke’s ‘All Night Long’, this is his first Irish No1 in his own right. more
