Pushing The Right Buttons

The Pussycat Dolls & Busta Rhymes hold on to the No1 spot on the Singles Chart for a fourth week with ‘Don’t Cha’ despite a strong challenge from the Sugababes. Almost exactly five years since their first single ‘Overload’ hit the charts the girl’s new single ‘Push The Button’ enters the chart at No2 – their best first week position for a couple of years. more


Slow Motion Replay

David Gray has a second week at No1 on the Album Chart with ‘Life In Slow Motion’, but there’s a strong challenge this week from Sharon Shannon’s ‘The Collection 1990-2005’ which is a new entry at No2. Her previous best on this chart was No4, the debut position for both ‘The Diamond Mountain Sessions’ (2000) and ‘Libertango’ (2003). more


Blunt Edged Out By Gray

James Blunt’s 11-week stranglehold at the top of the Albums Chart is finally broken this week as David Gray debuts at No1 with his seventh album ‘Life In Slow Motion’. This is his fourth No1 album in Ireland in five years, following ‘White Ladder’, ‘Lost Songs’ and ‘A New Day At Midnight’: ‘White Ladder’ went on to become Ireland’s top selling album of the modern era. more


Purrfect Debut For Pussycats

The Pussycat Dolls (feat. Busta Rhymes) crash in at No1 on the Singles Chart with their debut ‘Don’t Cha’, as Daniel Powter’s ‘Bad Day’ slips to No3 after three weeks at the top. more


Kanye Registers At No2

‘Late Registration’, Kanye West’s eagerly anticipated follow-up to 2004’s ‘The College Dropout’, fails to dislodge James Blunt from the top of the Album Chart this week, debuting at No2 behind ‘Back To Bedlam’ which enjoys a tenth consecutive week at the top. more
