Blunt’s ‘Lost Souls’ Hits Top Spot

James Blunt debuts at No1 on this week’s Album Chart with his second album ‘All The Lost Souls’, his follow up to 2004’s ‘Back To Bedlam’ which was one the most successful debut albums ever, spending 14 weeks at No1, with an unbroken 12 month run in the Top 40.

Fiddy Wins ‘Third Album’ Showdown

50 Cent comes out ahead in the tussle at the top of this week’s Album Chart, with ‘Curtis’ outselling Kanye West’s ‘Graduation’ by a factor of nearly 3:2. For both artists it’s their third album, but 50 Cent’s previous album ‘The Massacre’ debuted at No1 in March 2005 whereas Kanye West’s previous album ‘Late Registration’ debuted at No2 later the same year.

Plain White T’s Second on Singles and Albums

Timbaland holds at No1 on the Album Chart for a fifth week with ‘Shock Value’, despite a strong challenge from Plain White T’s ‘Every Second Counts’, new at No2 . This is their fourth album since forming in Illinois ten years ago, but the first to get a major label European release.
