FIFA Streets ahead

· EA’s ‘FIFA Street’ enjoys a healthy Easter with all 3 formats (PS2/XB/GC) enjoying a rise in sales and becomes No1 on this Chart in its third week of release. Sony’s ‘Gran Turismo 4’ (PS2) managed 2 straight weeks at No1 but is down to No2 for it’s third week on sale (although still No1 on PS2 Full Price), followed at No3 again by Ubisoft’s big new release from last week, ‘Brothers In Arms: Road To Hill 30’ (PS2/XB/PC). This week’s highest new entry at No4 is EA’s ‘Timesplitters: Future Perfect’ (PS2/XB/GC), developed by British studio Free Radical Design. The astute amongst you will have remembered that ‘Timesplitters’ and ‘Timesplitters 2’ were published by Eidos, but Free Radical announced a switch of publishers back in January 2004. more


GT4 keeps competition at bay

Sony’s ‘Gran Turismo 4’ (PS2) holds on to No1 in the All Formats Entertainment Software Chart despite sales slowing (down 53%) and pressure from EA’s ‘FIFA Street’ (PS2/XB/GC) which shimmies up one place from No3 to No2 (sales up 51%). more

Gran Turismo 4 positions itself at No4 in the fastest-selling-game starting grid with a rush of new releases and DS launch titles bumper to bumper at the top end of the All Formats Entertainment Chart. more


Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater sinks its fangs into the No1 spot

Six years ago the original ‘Metal Gear Solid’ (PSX) topped the All Formats Chart and three years later ‘Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty’ (PS2) achieved the same feat. Now 3 years later ‘Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’ (PS2) enters the All Formats Top 40 at No1 pushing Lucasarts’ ‘Mercenaries’ down to No2. more
