With Adele’s ‘21’ taking a 17th week at No1 on the Album Chart, ahead of her own ‘19’, Take That mount a challenge this week with the release of ‘Progressed’ (their ‘Progress’ album plus eight new songs), sweeping them from No18 to No3.
Louis Walsh protégés Wonderland take a bow at No6 to claim this week’s highest new entry with their self-titled debut album, one place ahead of the next new entry for Paul Simon at No7 with ‘So Beautiful Or So What’. This is his first release on the Hear Music label after thirty years with Warner Bros and surpasses the No8 debut for his previous studio album ‘Surprise’ five years ago. There are two high re-entries in this week’s chart - Bob Marley’s classic greatest hits collection ‘Legend’ at No9 and Noah & The Whale’s ‘Last Night On Earth’ at No11 – and there’s a new entry at No15 for Bad Meets Evil with ‘Hell: The Sequel’.
Pitbull remains at No1 on the Singles Chart for a third week with ‘Give Me Everything’ heading a Top 4 unchanged since last week: Aloe Blacc at No2, LMFAO at No3 and Jedward at No4. Calvin Harris and Kelis breathe some new life into this week’s Top 10 with ‘Bounce’ coming in at No6 – a fourth appearance in the Irish Top 10 for Calvin and a sixth for Kelis. The only other new entry in this week’s Top 20 is for Katy Perry with ‘Last Friday Night’ (T.G.I.F.) at No12, her tenth hit single in Ireland in less than two years.
